Court decision on Voting Rights Act could spur election changes, but not turn back the clock
Thu Feb 28, 2013
Perhaps less "minorities" would live in poverty if they stopped voting in people who give them "free stuff" & learned some self respect & actually learned to take care of themselves. It's not a lack of compassion on our part - it's an "entitlement" mentality on theirs. Racism seems to have b …
GOP registration worker charged with voter fraud
Fri Oct 19, 2012
I guess the difference here is that the GOP guy was actually charged...as opposed to the dems who just close thier office & reopen the next day under a new name.
Bloomberg defends soda ban plan: We're not taking away your freedoms

Generational welfare is an epidemic in my opinion. It's a woman's "choice" to reproduce...whether she can afford to or not. The governemnt picks up the tab via MY tax dollars. I'd like studies done to determine what % of children from single family welfare homes make up our prison populations. That' …
Romney: 'I'm not concerned about the very poor'
Wed Feb 1, 2012
It seems to me that neither party is all that concerned about anything other then lining their pockets & pushing their agenda. It seems to me like the majority of poor people are that way because they make poor choices.
Immigrant workers, farmers fearful in wake of Alabama immigration law
Mon Nov 14, 2011
Is there any reason we can't put non-handicapped welfare recipients to work in the fields? Maybe make them EARN that check they get every month? Perhaps people would not depend so much on the taxpayers to support their lifestyle if this was the trade off. Perhaps people would do more to educate th …
Is President Obama engaging in 'class warfare'?

there are so many people who get returns bigger then what they paid in. there are too many people on welfare. time to make EVERYONE pay
Amid 'war on obesity,' skeptics warn of stigma
Mon May 2, 2011
I had always been trim & fit. Worked out, was active...but just kept slowly gaining weight...no matter what I did. Years later I find out I've had undiagnosed medical issues. I go for regular physicals & had even been tested for several of the issues I now suffer from.
NY inmate separates guards fighting over food
Fri Apr 29, 2011
Suspended WITH pay?!?! Sounds like extra vacation days to me! Ironic that most public schools have zero tolerence policies in which children participating in any physical assault on another student are immediately expelled but our (unionized) prision guards get a few extra paid days off.
NYC board: Trump hasn't voted in primary since '89

Glen Beck isn't a birther. Try thinking for yourself rather then letting the mainstream media do it for you.
Aging dam holds up as flood starts to drop
Thu Apr 14, 2011
(over)taxing the rich is not the answer. The richest people already have the biggest tax burden. Maybe it's time EVERYONE paid their fair share. Why should people who have children get tax breaks? Aren't they actually using MORE resources then those without children? Almost half the population curre …
